Go Button app good for
I just ran a show at the 2012 Toronto Fringe Festival using this app and it was rock solid. We had over 30 cues in our one hour show and it never missed a beat. I really like being able to move away from clunky laptops or heaven forbid cds. The non destructive editing is great. I had a minor technical issue that was responded to almost immediately. Highly recommended.
This app performs brilliantly in a professional situation. No crashes. No bugs. Well thought out. Truly brilliant. If youre on the fence as to whether or not to buy, I too thought the price was a tad steep at first, but quickly realized that its worth every penny. Wish list: would someday love to have the added option to initiate more than one volume level within a single track as it plays. Be proud! and thank you!
Firstly, the app description doesnt do the app justice.
Its universal.
Its totally pro and easy to use.
you can select a cue and press go.
you can reorder cues by dragging.
edit start and stop times.
Fade out and stop other cues.
duck all other cues for voice overs etc.
Set a wait time inside a cue to start another cue. eg, play cue 1music for 20 seconds then start cue 2 while cue 1keeps going.
import from email attachment.
Ill add more when I put it on my iPad!
This is the right app for theater guys, for sound guys who hate using iTunes and for karaoke/DJ who like to play music in between songs.
And it exports the whole show, music and all!
Good app! Exactly what Im looking for and even better than Instant Replay (app and hardware).
Two smaller features I would like to have is a custom fade out time for each hit buttons when you stop them and to be able to organise them as you want on the pages and maybe even have the cues switch to a particular page when needed.
And a big feature (maybe through an in app purchase) I would love to have, would be the ability to trigger and respond to MIDI events in cues and with hit buttons.
Go Button is excellent! It performs as advertised, and is even better than that.
Before purchase I researched other apps at 3-5 times the price, and they didnt come close to providing the flexibility and the usability of Go Button. Customer support is excellent.
This app is stunning from top to bottom.
This app developer (Figure 53) made their mark creating the industry standard show automator called Qlab.
Qlab runs large scale rock concerts as well as the majority of NYs Broadway productions.
This app does only audio but it does it better than any app, and its FREE!
Cant recommend it highly enough!
Some bad moments
This app has been awesome, and has been super easy to update all the cues on our show. This is a must buy for small theatre companies everywhere!
The one thing that would bump this up to a 5 star rating is an iPad version. Even still, for what we need this is light years better than spending $250 for QLab.
This is okay for basic needs, but more features are needed. There needs to be a function cue feature for operating fades to cues already being played. With that, there needs to be a fade curve feature added. Auto follow is nice, but here needs to be an auto continue to fire multiple groups at once. Pre waits and post waits are needed. A group function is important too in order to group cues together. Many functions are missing and Im kind of disappointed that this was for $9.99. Multiplay for pc is free and has more functions than this.
My only wish is that there was an instant fade out button and possibly larger, easy to read text.
Oh yeah, a PAUSE would be helpful too.
Otherwise, awesome app!!
I just came back from doing a 40-minute juggling show with this app on my iphone 4! I was able to load my songs and arrange them with precise cue times and fade outs within minutes before leaving for the show. I used a wireless Apple keyboard to wirelessly control my cues from the stage. AMAZING performance!!
My only gripe about the app is that there no pause button available. Also, there is no way to cue multiple sounds at the same time (it can PLAY multiple sounds at the same time, but you have to start them individually).
For the price, though, its a basic-but-solid app for cueing sounds or songs with precision and flexibility.
I havnt seen any app that compare to this....Im a magician and this is a very useful app! Takes a little while to get used to on programing but after that its really easy once you learned it. For small venues this app is perfect! Imagine just having your phone and a Bluetooth speaker? I can control this app 30 feet away!! Amazing app!
Used this app for a Christmas show over the weekend. Did exactly what I needed it to. I was a little concerned about its stability since I had never used it in a performance, but it performed flawlessly on my iPad 3. I would like to see channel mapping (left/right) and iTunes library integration, but this app is great as-is.
